Whilst all eyes were glued to the #MBFWA catwalk, our peepers were peeled for the latest street-style trends to trot-trot through the Carriagework doors.
Much like us, Aussie IT girl Lianna Perdis (and eldest daughter of famed makeup guru Napoleon Perdis) also watched each and every show, picking up on all the freshest looks off the runway. Here are some of her fave...
The bomber has recently taken over the fash-world, but this year, there's a twist in the form of unusual colours, oversized silhouettes and loads of feminine embroidery. According to Lianna, this piece takes pride in her wardrobe.
"These luxe jackets make casual cool and are a definite staple in my wardrobe," says Lianna.
WHITE ON WHITE
Whilst white on white is alright on the night (yep, we did that), wearing several 'shades' of white in one, single outfit is what works for us. And whilst most people assume that it's stereotypically a summery trend, all-white outfits can be transitioned for the cooler months with a heavier coat in cream (for example).
"I love the fresh, clean and modern look of white on white #Perfection!" she adds.
What's black, white and chic all over? Monochrome, that's what.
The simplicity of this combo makes it a timeless classic, which is probs why it dominated the MBFWA front-row this week. Whether it's prints, stripes or colour-blocking, there's none of the worry of wearing colours that don't compliment each other, in addition to the possibility of throwing in a pop of colour via red lippy, statement necklace or a metallic clutch (for an extra touch!)
"Monochrome is such a classic and timeless look that never goes out of style," Lianna says.
FEMININE SKIRTS + EDGY SNEAKERS
We've got to admit - this trend makes our feet weep for joy (and our six-inch stilettos weep in sadness as they've been officially SWAPPED). Whilst your honest-to-god, high-top, low-top, lace-up kicks might look more "sport" than "sporte luxe" on their own, paired with a floaty, feminine frock they're high-fash royalty.
"I’m obsessed with this combo as it it’s the perfect mix of a masculine and feminine style," Lianna adds.
SLICK BACK LOCKS
Forget the side vs centre-part debate; smooth, slicked-back locks are the new thing. While Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian each tried out the wet effect (which you can totally give a go), many trendsetter's from #MBFWA rocked a less structural backwards swoop... and we're absolutely loving the lengthy 'do.
"Wow this is H-O-T! It’s cool, edgy and totally chic love, love, love!!" Lianna says.
