You’re eagerly awaiting your flight at the airport, boarding pass in hand. You want to share your excitement and your glam destination with all your mates, so you snap a pic and share it to your platform of choice.
BAD IDEA apparently.
According to a recent blog post by security experts KrebsonSecurity, some websites specialise in retrieving your personal information from the barcodes on people’s boarding passes.
Apparently they can read the barcode through your pic and then provide someone else access to your travel info! This info could include your phone number, frequent flyer number and future travel plans! WTF.
There's all kinds of stuff people can do with this kind of information!
Maybe just send a snap from the beach when you get there next time.
