That's right, the social networking site has just added another epic feature to its credit.
There’s a new, swipe-friendly way to access movie tickets. The app has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox, and, according to Variety, will let users buy tickets for this the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse through Snapchat. The campaign closes off on May 26, the day before the film opens, in the US. So sadly, it hasn’t yet reached the palms of Aussie snapchatters, but given the success rate in America, we might have the convenient feature soon!
Don't cry, our time will come, too.
Seriously though, how exactly does it work? Well, the tickets are accessible when Snapchat users watch the X-Men video ads on the service and then swipe up on their mobile screens. They can then buy tickets for the movie from either MovieTickets.com or Fandango. The ads are obviously showcased in multiple channels in the Snapchat Discover section.
TBH it’s a smart move by Snapchat HQ, given it’s most popular with millenials, a group of youngsters aka us, because ain’t nobody got time for anything that takes more than a few minutes. For reals, we’re living in the vine era… get with it, yo.
What do you reckon? Would you ditch the massive queues and be interested in buying tickets for new films on Snapchat?
We know we would. After all, that time is better spent picking pods or maltesers to go with your popcorn.
