Katherine Heigl rocked up to The Howard Stern Show recently and the 37-year-old actress did not hold back. She opened up about her tiff with Knocked Up co-star Seth Rogen and director Judd Apatow after throwing shade at the 2007 film and calling it “a little sexist”.
The blonde starlet infamously dissed her own film in US Vanity Fair mag, saying that it, “painted the women as shrews, as humourless and uptight… it was hard for me to love the movie.”
TBH, as expected, her on-screen collaborators didn’t take her unsolicited opinion lightly... which is why she's now trying to backtrack on her initial thoughts on the flick. Trying to soften the blow, Kath is now saying that she "liked the movie a lot" and that it was her "judgemental and uptight and controlling” character that she was referring too, not the film per se. Yep, still a dig.
Regardless, Katherine couldn't keep her lips sealed when it came to her “a**hole” character during Vanity Fair’s discussion about the sexist backlash the film is experiencing.
She admits that making comments mentioned above “was dumb". "They were incredibly good to me on this movie," she added. "So I did not mean to sh*t on them at all.”
Apparently, she ran into Seth Rogen a few years back at a restaurant and he made his stance quite obvious when he brushed her.
“I would love to [work with him again],” she said. “I don't think he would with me, though. I think he's really mad at me.”
Admittedly, this isn't the first time we've heard Kath get a bad wrap for behaviour on set. In 2008, she found herself in hot water when she said she didn't submit herself for a Grey's Anatomy Emmy nomination because “[she] did not feel that she was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination.” Awks. SO. Awks.
These days, Katherine reckons it was more about her “performance” rather than the script itself, and she made sure she apologised to show's creator Shonda Rhimes.
The public backlash was so bad it sent Katherine into therapy: “I was not handling it well. I was feeling like the biggest piece of sh*t on the bottom of your shoe.”
Ah, we hope she’s okay. But, in future, maybe think things through?
