Selena Gomez paid tribute to her late friend Christina Grimmie with an emotional performance during her concert in Miami on Saturday.
The star broke down during her song Nobody, and mouthed the words "I'm sorry," to the crowd. She then gathered herself to speak about the recent tragedy.
""When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her," Selena said, "One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it's not about a religion and it's not about anything or good deeds. It's just that she had faith, and I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her."
Christina Grimmie, a singer who placed third on the sixth season of The Voice, was shot and killed by Kevin James Loibl after one of her concerts in Orlando on the 10th of June. Loibl - who was quickly tackled by Grimmie's brother Mark - killed himself after the attack.
Selena sat at the piano and sang a moving version of Hillsong Worship's song Transfiguration, to honour her close friend.
On Saturday, before her concert, Selena tweeted a photo of her and Grimmie, along with the caption, "My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina."
R.I.P Christina Grimmie.
