Errbody put down your kale salads and your antioxidant smoothies, the scientists have declared beer is good for you.
The scientists we’re referring to, are some good old Italian researchers who published a paper for the Mediterranean Neurological Institute.
Based on 150 studies, the scientists said up to 1.4 pints for men and half of that for women, could have a beneficial effect. YAS!
The scientist claimed that a daily beer made no difference to people's chances of getting most cancers, dementia or other diseases. AND they claimed there is a level of so-called "good" cholesterol in the drink, which could be responsible for the benefits.
"Unless they are at high risk for alcohol-related cancers or alcohol dependency there is no reason to discourage healthy adults who are already regular light or moderate beer consumers from continuing," their paper conluded.
