It's no secret Geordie Shore is a scandalous show. From lengthy benders, to turbulent on-off relationships, the Geordie's we have come to know and love are always up to no good.
And now, to celebrate 5 years of the gang getting absolutely mortal, MTV is bringing you a dream Reality TV reunion. The current cast including your favourites, Gaz and Charlotte, will be reuniting with old favourite's like Jay Gardner, Ricci Guarnaccio and Sophie Kasaei for a special showdown.
With 16 of the cast members joining forces for Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle, it's sure to be an absolute riot. We sat down with Ricci Guarnaccio to talk all things Geordie, and get his take on the latest season, his history with the gang and his love of Australia.
Ricci on: Returning to Geordie Shore
I’ve always said I would never go back to Geordie Shore, but for occasions like this... I mean Geordie shore is where I started so to go back and see people, it was quite emotional as you can imagine, walking through those doors to see where I started five years ago. This series is definitely going to be the biggest and best one, because you’ve got all the drama and the emotional side as well, because you’ve got all the new and old people in one house… just seeing Marty kicking off with Dan every ten minutes and stuff like that. It's crazy.
Ricci on: His best friend in the house
Jay’s my best mate, we weren’t really close when I was filming, but we’ve become best mates. I speak to Jay every day over here.
Ricci on: The new Geordie's
Didn’t mind them, got along with them all quite well. Marty is quite young, and Dan was back in as well… you can tell they’re very young. Marty is like a little Gaz just wanting to bang everyone. It’s mad cause all these new people are coming through, and if the show continues it will just keep going and going. This show just gets bigger and bigger.
Ricci on: Filming the reunion
There’s just so much stuff. This was all filmed in a very short time, and there were a lot more people in the house. It was so chaotic. I flew back to Manchester, went in to the house with no sleep. I got in and was just downing red bull. I was that ill and tired though from constant partying, I was physically drained so when it came to the end I remember flying home and passing out for the night. I was zonked.
Ricci on: Gaz & Charlotte
With this on-off thing, it’s been five years now. They're growing up and it just can’t keep continuing, it just cant. I would love to see them together because they do genuinely love each other, but I think that so much has happened in the past. It’s just hard because they’re both in the public eye, and when you’ve got a relationship in the public eye you’ve got a lot of pressure,. You’ve got people saying this, people saying that, you’ve got paps following you, honestly it’s unbelievable. I feel sorry for them, but it’s time to call it. You need to both move on, as much as you might care for each other there needs to be a cut off point. But I would love to see them together, I really would. Those two are sort of like the face of Geordie Shore, it would not work without those two.
Ricci on: His ex-fiancee Vicky skipping the reunion
I did Ex On The Beach with her, which was a nightmare. She tried to make my life a living hell, and then doing a book which was a load of bullocks. She’s tried to slag me off and portray me in a bad light, but she’s making herself look bad. Other people might have wanted her to be there [in the house], but for me it made my life a lot better and I enjoyed the experience this time, because last time [having her] made the house a living hell. I mean, I was locking my bedroom door on Ex On The Beach because I didn’t know what she was going to do. It was good to go back and enjoy it this time, have a good experience.
Ricci on: Vicky's book
I was like oh that’s perfectly timed, releasing a book when I’m going in to Big Brother and I can’t say anything. The amount of stories she told of me when I was doing Big Brother... Don’t get me wrong we’ve both been a bit tit for tat, but she said a lot of things that have just been made up. If I did a book it would be a lot worse.
Ricci on: Australian women
All the Australian women are gorgeous, no makeup, hair tied back. It’s more of a beachy look, it’s more natural. I’m not slagging the girls off back home but it’s all fake hair, heavy makeup. But you go to the beach and everyone’s in denim shorts and singlets, it’s nice. It’s a lot more relaxed.
Ricci on: Australian slang
You shorten everything! You’re like “this arvo we’re gonna go to the servo.” You know, thongs and singlets. Singlet? It’s a vest! And thongs are flip flops! It’s weird. I’m starting to say “Hey” a lot, though. “Hey how ya going?”
Ricci on: What's next
Australia is home now. I start filming my new show here in June, I’m doing the Kyle & Jackie O radio show once a week. It couldn’t be going better! I’m loving being over here, everyone’s so chilled.
The new series, Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle premieres on MTV on Wednesday the 11th of May at 9am.
