Let me start by saying, I am tall AF.
Ordinarily when my jeans arrive I’m seriously disappointed by the length, because I look like I’m rocking some kind of ankle grazer (verging on knee grazer).
So when my new pair of ASOS jeans arrived last week, I was shocked to discover they were not only long enough for me, but had to be rolled multiple times just to reach my ankles. "What is this sorcery?" I thought to myself because I am tall, but also an old timey wizard from the 1400's.
TBH I kept the jeans anyway, because I’m a sucker for handing over that $6 return fee. Also, I urgently needed to wear these ones because I had torn a hole in the crotch of my other jeans when trying to pull them on in a dance known to women everywhere as “the skinny jean dance” (SIDENOTE: a crotch hole is about the only one you can’t pass off as part of the design).
I just thought gravity had begun take it's toll on my long limbs. However, in the last few days something interesting began to happen.
On the 27th of May, George Riggal from the UK posted a tweet about his absurdly long ASOS jeans that had just arrived.
Old mate George sparked an online flood of complaints from fellow ASOS shoppers, who also experienced the sizing mishap. Fortunately, most of the suckers all had a solid sense of humour about the situation. I mean, how could you not?
Admittedly, my longass jeans were nowhere near as bad as some of these hilarious ones popping up on Twitter, but at least now the whole thing makes sense!
No comment yet from ASOS about the mishap, but here's hoping they sort it out soon so we can all get back to rocking our denim, SNL style.
