If Snoop's looking for a place to kick back post-blunt, Sydney's got the spot.
As of tomorrow at 4.20pm (LOL), D'Munchies opens it's doors in Newtown (for all those with the munchies). And while some might make excuses for the name, chef and co-owner David Pyne says stoner food is his speciality.
"It's pretty obvious how the idea came about," David told Broadsheet. "It's a very loud statement, but that's sort of what we're about. It's for people who enjoy that, and that's what we're here for."
Along with the diner's two-metre tall marijuana mural and map with the quickest route to Camperdown Park, the D'Munchies menu will dominate those bleary-eyed cravings with pretzel baguettes, pepperoni pizza hot dogs and deep-fried ravioli nachos.
"It's not for us to tell you to smoke or not to smoke," Alessando Licata, manager of D'Munchies, added. "Many people come here and look at the mural we have... I think it's a new thing that could be really good and Newtown is the perfect zone for it."
"Nobody's ever glassed someone while they're stoned," David agreed. "If you want to go out and smoke a joint, you should be able to."
For extra funnies, D'Munchies will open at 4.20pm for the first three days of trading (cos 420's the common code for smoking weed, y'all).
