Kesha's claims of sexual abuse by acclaimed music producer Dr. Luke have just hit a major roadblock.
Earlier today, New York Judge Shirley Werner Kornreich ruled that 29-year-old Kesha's rape allegations were void in the ongoing court case. According to TMZ, the Judge also denied Kesha's hate crime and human rights claims, noting that "every rape was not a gender-motivated hate crime".
She also stated: "Although Luke's alleged actions were directed to Kesha who is female, [her claims] do not allege that [Luke] harboured animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha."
The Judge also pointed out that the alleged abuse happened outside of New York City, and had taken place well beyond the legal time limit so would not be considered in any future hearings.
The lawsuit will proceed with regards to ending Kesha's contract with Sony and Dr Luke's label, Kemosabe Records.
