After being named in a lawsuit over stealing a riff in their hit song Sorry, superstar DJ Skrillex and Justin Bieber have hit back on Twitter.
Skrillex tweeted “SORRY but we didn’t steal this” along with a video showing how they actually made the sound featured in their hit song.
In the clip, Skrillex plays an original demo of Sorry sung by co-writer Julia Michaels.
He then manipulates her voice to get the final version used in the track.
Justin backed him up with the hashtag #wedontsteal. You tell ‘em, Biebs!
Indie Artist White Hinterland filed a lawsuit against the pair claiming they ripped off the riff from her 2014 song Ring The Bell.
If you haven’t already, take a listen to her song. It’s seriously the first 15 secs that sound eerily similar to Sorry.
So, will their Twitter video be enough to prove that the boys are innocent? Hmmm. Seems pretty legit to us!
