Jennifer Lawrence really worked hard to score a spot in the X-Men movies. In fact, before she filmed X-Men: First Class, she risked getting in to some serious trouble to get to the audition.
She spilled about her brush with jail on The Graham Norton Show...
J-Law's team told her before landing in England that she'd have to tell a little white lie because of visa restrictions: "They were like, 'Whatever you do, don't tell them that you're here for work, because they'll ask for a work visa; say you're here for pleasure,'" she explained. "And I'm like, 'Oh, my! Good God! I have to lie to a customs officer!' So I'm working myself up so much through the line. I'm like, 'OK, I just have to have a backstory. I have to believe it.'"
Her cunning plan was to tell customs she was off to see her brother get married in Wimbledon but as the story progressed her acting skills failed and they didn't believe her. J-Law then revealed she was held until it was all sorted out: "I had to sit in a tiny little jail for like five hours while they called my employer; I felt tiny."
So while she wasn't arrested and obvs was let off (AND also won the role of Mystique), J-Law was pretty dang embarrassed and learnt a valuable lesson; never try to trick airport security!
