Bad news if your an Amy Schumer fan. Shes apparently had it with the fan selfies.
The new, no selfie rule is the result of an incident the 34-year-old comedian had with a fan in Greenville, North Carolina.
The fan in question got a special post on Amy’s Instagram. Apparently the fan ran up and "scared the shit out..." of Amy, before taking pictures with her, despite her asking him to stop.
She captioned the post:
"This guy in front of his family just ran up next to me scared the s**t out of me. Put a camera in my face. I asked him to stop and he said " no it's America and we paid for you" this was in front of his daughter. I was saying stop and no. Great message to your kid. Yes legally you are allowed to take a picture of me. But I was asking you to stop and saying no. I will not take picture with people anymore and it's because of this dude in Greenville."
The statement "I will not take picture with people anymore..." obviously shocked and disappointed her fans.
In fact it stirred up quite a bit of controversy on social media. Some users have been standing up for Amy, particularly in reference to the fan's "we paid for you" remark. However, others reckon that taking pics with fans is just all part of the job.
She later back tracked a little, adding that she will take pictures with "nice people".
Whether you agree or not with the fan or Amy, if your hoping for a selfie with the comedian, don't run up and make her jump with a camera in her face. Maybe just ask first.
